Back to Basics, hard working 3 piece band based in Whyalla SA. Playing an infectious blend of Rock and roll party music for all ages. No song too sacred while not being too proud to play some pure pop.
Good bands become great bands by having the right chemistry to become bigger than the sum of its individuals. This certainly explains the longevity of the Bad Bad Boys who formed in 1991 and after almost 7 years and approaching 300 performances later still has the original line up consisting of Grant (vocals, bass and keyboards), Phil (Guitar) and Brian (drums). To guarantee the band some hope of getting work after the introduction of Poker Machines and where live venues in SA went from 700 to less than 100 almost over night, from its inception the band had a single goal. This was for each member to put aside their own personal music taste to create an extensive list of popular commercial music. The repertoire is now huge and consists of time tested and now work hardened material that is instantly recognisable to a wide age group. In fact at some shows the boys throw the set list aside and just take requests from the crowd – something only bands experienced as this one can pull off successfully. Regardless of which path they set off on the Bad Bad Boys will take you on a journey where you will hear popular rock music from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Elvis, pure pop from acts like Queen and The Buggles, Aussie classics from The Easybeats and Steve Wright, contemporary music from Powder Finger, Jet and Nirvana and of course pub rock favourites from The Angels, Cold Chisel and AC-DC. Demand for the Bad Bad Boys has seen them perform their concert length - sets punctuated by short breaks over much of Country SA and Broken Hill at all types of public, private and corporate events held in homes clubs, pubs, rodeos and other larger venues. Their shows are always are like breathing you wont want them to stop and you will need to be prepared for a sore throat from all of the singing you will be joining in on! SORRY WE DO NOT PLAY COUNTRY AND WESTERN (but you never know what may creep into a classic we are covering on any given night). Bad Bad Boys have all "paid our dues" through the experience of the best years of the Whyalla and surrounding areas music scene by playing in one or two great, many average and a few bad bands during that time. Bad Influence ABOUT BADINFLUENCE:
People say the music these days ain’t like it used to be. Modern music is too ‘manufactured’ and everything sounds the same. Pop music is mass produced disposable pulp, something that you might tap your foot to for three minutes and five minutes later, you’ve completely forgotten how it went.
Whatever happened to that music that galvanized a generation? That made people go crazy in the streets and make love to total strangers? There was a time when music could make people see colours, hear sounds they had never heard before and stay up all night just to watch the sunrise with their favourite artist providing the soundtrack.
BADINFLUENCE is on a mission to tap into that sound and breathe life into the rock that never dies. They have come to pay homage to the classics of the late 60’s and early 70’s – putting their own spin on well known and obscure gems from performers such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Cream & The Rolling Stones. They supplement their sound with selected highlights from bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, AC/DC and Lenny Kravitz.

LAURIE ALLISON – LEAD VOCALS – boasting a credible Morrisonesque baritone, Laurie delivers with passion, grunt and intensity.
ASH YOUNG – GUITAR, KEYBOARDS – ‘Ash the Flash’ can rip out a face-melting lead break to dazzle any audience, his interplay with brother Adam gives the band great depth and complexity.
ADAM YOUNG – GUITAR, VOCALS – two brothers with the surname Young together in a band – a great Aussie rock tradition, no doubt. Adam plays immaculate rhythm and slinky lead guitar.
ANDY WEST – BASS GUITAR – the ever reliable bass man – every band needs one. Andy goes about his business with a minimum of fuss, just like all good bass players should.

BELLE MUSETTE - Wedding Music Experiencing French musette music brings on feelings of festivity, romance and longing. The tunes are mostly drawn from the interwar years in Paris, when the ‘bal musette’ dance halls flourished as a community meeting place.
The music came from the magic fusion of the Italian migrant worker’s accordion accompanied by the Manouche (Gypsy) guitarists, while a double bass held down the rhythm. ‘BINGE AND PURGE’: The Metallica tribute show was formed in March, 2004 by drummer Michael. He is also the drummer of ‘Groove-Core’ metal band 4ARM.
Inspired by the sound, image and live performance that Metallica gave on their recent St.Anger tour, performing their thunderous array of classics in an explosive and energetic showcase, Michael and Danny were determined not only to meet the band but begin covering the music they had loved all their lives. After meeting Lars, James and Kirk, Michael, Danny and their fellow musicians decided to fully develop Binge and Purge and in a short amount of time, proven themselves as talented musicians and have successfully achieved the status of Melbourne’s most accurate Metallica cover band.
Their set list which is over two hours long, offers a wide range songs from Metallica’s illustrious career from Kill’em all to St.Anger with even the most challenging songs performed like Battery and One. Each song is carried out with traditional live set arrangements and endings which are distinctive to Metallica’s live show.

Bit by Bit  Welcome to the Rock ‘n’ Roll World of “Bit by Bit”. We are a three piece Rock ‘n’ Roll band playing the hits of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, including contemporary and country rock songs.
Bit by Bit is a vocal instrumental trio consisting of Ian on guitar/vocals, Paul on bass/vocals and Tony on drums/vocals. Ian, Tony and Paul formed the band in August 2005, bringing together their individual styles and experience to produce a tight Rock ‘n’ Roll outfit. Ian is a huge Shadows fan, so expect to hear some great Shadows instrumentals mixed in with our strong vocal covers. The band has a popular following amongst the Rock ‘n’ Roll fraternity in Brisbane which include many of the top line Rock ‘n’ Roll dance clubs. A versatile virtuoso on both guitar and keyboards, Geoff, also a solo performer and song-writer, has been on his musical journey since the Swinging Sixties, travelling from Hereford, England, to Melbourne via the US and Sydney. Well-known bands he has played in include the Jon St Peters Band and Gentry.
Paul (Froggy) O’Connor (rhythm/lead guitar/vocals)
A high-energy guitarist who is equally at home playing tasteful licks in a ballad as he is whipping out a blistering solo in a hard-rocker. Small in stature – huge on talent, Paul is a vastly experienced performer across many music genres.

Chris has seen and done it all in Melbourne rock. He was a member of hard-working pub rockers The Inserts, who played all over town in the Seventies and Eighties supporting big names like Men At Work, John Farnham, Rose Tattoo, The Angels and Mi-sex.
Blind Beatroot The Blind Beatroot are a rock 'n' roll party band that definately dont leave an audience 'till their on their feet dancing the night away. They can mellow down to groove the blues, and they can rock the night away with the crowd on their feet dancing wild in no time.

BLUES BROTHERS REVIVAL  "The Blues Brothers Revival Band" first formed in 1983 in Townsville, Queensland. Original bookings were just local, however with many changes along the way tours eventuated well in to the 1990's and beyond. Tour destinations included every state in Australia and then on to New Zealand, the biggest audience being 11000 people at "Expo" in Brisbane 1988. This made The Blues Brothers Revival one of the first, most successful and longest running concept bands in Australia.
During this period, publicity was maintained by appearances on such television shows as Countdown, 60 Minutes, Rock Arena, Simon Townsend Wonder World, Midday Show and Hey Hey it's Saturday.
Obviously since the 1980's many things have changed and after taking a break from touring between 1997 and 2004,"Jake and Elwood" the focus characters of the show remain the same and both are ready to have you dance your socks off. Backing them is a 8 piece ensemble of musicians from bands behind Australia’s biggest names Jimmy Barnes, Marcia Hines, Brian Cadd, Glen Shorrock, Cold Chisel, Olivia Newton-John and Leo Sayer to name a few.
The show consists of 2 sets totalling over 2 and half hours of non-stop fun that feature most songs from the movie which included Shake your Tailfeather, Sweet Home Chicago, Everybody needs somebody to love and the crowd favourite Minnie the Moocher. All songs are complete with dance routines and classic lines from the movie.
A vast variety of material gives the band a wealth of classic R&B songs to choose from, Hold on I'm coming by Sam n Dave, Get Ready by the Temptations and I feel good by James Brown.
This makes the band very versatile and appealing from ages 6 to 60.
They have performed concerts for many audiences - including Children’s shows, Cooperate functions, Hobart’s Carols by Candle light to your average sweaty pub gig.
So after 21 years Jake Blues/Stephen Ashton (original member), Elwood Blues/Darren Sangwell alongside long time collaborator, musical director and lead guitarist Jim Laing are still rocking on.

Bon Jovi - The Show  Bon Jovi will be remembered as one of the worlds biggest
Rock bands and fans the world over have flocked to their concerts for their high energy rock anthems, powerful ballads and Jon Bon Jovi's charismatic and passionate performances. Our idea was to recreate a Bon Jovi concert, not just any Bon Jovi concert, but one that encapsulated the spectacle and magic that thrilled us from the moment we saw this extraordinary band perform. With a career spanning over 25 years and 120 million in album sales we saw the need to recreate the Bon Jovi of today as well as recreating their brilliant high energy 80's era. Essentially giving the audience two Bon Jovi concerts in one. The cast were chosen and we began the task of recreating every aspect of the bands live performance, analyzing every detail of the music such as the vocal harmonies, the soaring guitars, powerful rhythms and infectious melodies. We sourced much of Bon Jovi's original equipment as well as Richie Sambora's iconic guitars such as the white “Jersey Star” and the “Wanted Dead or Alive” twin neck acoustic guitar. Light-shows, sound, and costumes were designed with amazing attention to detail in an attempt to recreate the energy and chemistry between the five boys from New Jersey. This production began 18 months ago and we wanted to put together a large club show not just another tribute band. This is much more than a tribute, it’s a reproduction that places the audience in the middle of a fantasy Bon Jovi concert, that converted the non-believers and enraptured the fans. For many, Bon Jovi was part of their youth, and seeing them in concert still remains one of their most vivid and cherished memories. "Bon Jovi - The Show" embraces the sights and sounds that "is" Bon Jovi. From ”It's my Life” to “Livin' on a Prayer” all your favourites are delivered in a passionate and powerful performance lead by vocalist and avid Bon Jovi devotee Bret Watts. From that statement, you can see that this review is very much a matter of personal taste. Lovers of bland, homogenised comedy are advised to read no further. This legendary Fringe show starts with an hour of Brian Damage's double act with top straight-woman Kyrsstal (Vicky de Lacy), followed by an alleged hour of highly individual comedy cabaret acts. The second hour lasted 105 minutes and included the likes of The Comedy Terrorist, Peter Buckley-Hill and Andrew O'Neill plus four other five-minute acts and nine other two-minute acts. Dull it ain't and it was loudly enjoyed by a full audience. Brian Damage and Krysstal (for half of the show she appears not as strangely straight Krysstal but as Thirties BBC-style character Madge) are a one-off cross-genre act but they have echoes of The Bonzos, the heyday of music hall and some rather seedy country and western club in the West Midlands where people called Kevin wear stetsons and call themselves Deke. The duo can simultaneously be professional and shambolic in the best possible way. Tonight, they were also intermittently performing a scripted Reithian radio show with ad-libs, their ancient yet still funny comic C&W songs, end-of-the-pier British filth and bad puns welcomed like old friends: "With all the stuff we're doing about shite, we should be up for the Derriere Award" While BBC producers are scouring the trendy Pleasance venues for bright young Oxbridge things to write fifth-rate shows for Radio 4, all the time, there sits under their noses or, at the bottom of the Pleasance hill a ready-made first-rate radio show being performed in the rather sweaty back room of the Holyrood Tavern. Almost five years ago, Chortle called the Pear Shaped cabaret show "a unique comic experience that you really have to sample at least once". The advice has not changed. It is rare to find the true anarchic spirit of the Fringe and early alternative comedy still thriving. But it is alive and well here. The Brian Damage and Pear Shaped double-bill show gets a very personal four stars. Lovers of slick, smooth comedy should stay well away. But I laughed like a drain. EVERY MONDAY @ EAST VILLAGE HOTEL

Buddha in a Chocolate Box  All started 7-8 years ago with a band called Blystar. Calvano was rhythm guitar/piano, Bakes was bass, Gav was drums, Phil was vocals and Nathan on lead, the music played was a more heavier than today. Time went by and people moved away or quit the band for some reason. Bakes and Calvano started playing as a duo doing covers of Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and so on. Gav started missing the skins too much so he came back and they started playing again as Calvano, Bakes & Gav, fairly original. Soon enough Pitty joined on the violin adding a whole new dynamic to the band and Buddha in a Chocolate Box was born.
Buddha in a Chocolate Box is an original band that plays covers to get by. They are all from Hamilton Vic and play mainly in the Western District of Victoria. Adrian Calvano Self taught piano, guitar, harmonica, ukulele and singing. Born into a musical family he has been brought up to love and appreciate music. His main influences are the Beatles, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Jack Johnson and his father. Shane Baker Self taught Bass guitar. Loves life, loves a laugh and loves a beer. Hobbies include TV, Beer, Smoking, Bourban and sleeping. Main influences are Flea, Juan Nelson, Bob Marley, Jack Johnson and David Boon. Gav Kelly Self taught gutsy drummer. The most natural drummer Ive ever seen or heard. Gav loves hitting skins, revin the tits off a car, falling off bikes, drinking and cooking. Main influences would be Phil Rudd & anyone else who 'has a go'! Matty Pittman This guy can play anything from classical to reggae from rock to jazz. Play a song to him once and after that hell play it better than you, has an amazing ear. Matty can play violin, mandolin, guitar and probably anything else you throw in front of him. When you ask Matty, whats your favourite music? His reply is always Bit of everything. Loves Creedence and The Bushwackers. Buddha in a Chocolate Box? How did you come up with that name? Well story goes, Cat Stevens has an album Buddha and the Chocolate Box. This title is about the time when he was choosing between his life as a singer songwriter or finding his religion. Buddha in a Chocolate Box means that we have found our religion in the music. AHHHHH you say! Nah the real story is that one-day Calvano and Bakes were playing golf and a pub rang up Calvano asking what his band was called. At the time Calvano had a T-Shirt on that said Buddha Rocks, Calvano then yelled out to Bakes and said what should we call the band Saturday night and Bakes replied Buddha. At the time Bakes was eating chocolate from a box, so Calvano said Buddha in a Chocolate Box. But we like to tell people the first story cause it sounds more bohemian like.

Bushwahzee Bushwahzee is a Melbourne institution, an enduring band of musicians, and possibly one of the very few Australiana groups or Bush bands working full time.
The band has seen many changes since its first gig at the Organ Factory in Clifton Hill in 1981, but the current line up is Paul Jenkins, original Bushwahzee member, singer, dance caller and lagerphone extraordinaire player; Felix Meagher - fiddle player, song writer and composer of musicals; and Aaron Rough - guitarist from Melbourne blues line-up Stick Buddy Jambouree and folkband Lightning Creek. Bushwahzee specialises in performing songs and dances that get their audiences involved. The band is equally happy in playing at tables in restaurants and encouraging people to sing along as it is calling bush dances for everyone to get up and have a go. Their arrangements of Australian folk song have parts especially composed so that most people can very easily join in. Typical events the band plays at are weddings, birthday parties, re-unions, work place celebrations, outdoor events, get-togethers, sports nights and in schools. The band has worked in hundreds of schools around Australia, and are well known for their one day productions for primary school children - The Bush Cabaret, The Sixties Happening, The Country Music Show, and The Bush Xmas (see more details below). The band has wide variety in its play list. The list features many of the well known Aussie traditional and contemporary songs and dances, a selection of songs from the 1960s, and any number of Irish songs and tunes. The band members have also written a songs and dances - The G’day Song, The Puffing Billy Song, The Lagerphone Song, The Convict Chain Gang, The Twelve Bar Barn Dance, The Road To Port Fairy, The Evening Star, Young and Free, Dance Happens, Nunawading, Country Life, and The Country and Western Singer. The permanent three piece line-up is often complimented by other musicians- Jan Wositzky, singer, banjo and amazing on the bones as well as original Bushwacker’s band member, Greg Rough from Lightning Creek as well as ex-Parradiddle and Travelling Wallabies, Louis Hesterman from The Gundaguys regularly joins the band as a fourth and bass playing member, Ewen Baker and or Bec Humphreys sometimes join to bring extra fiddles to the lineup, and recently Maity Swallow (ex-Cobbers) brought along his accordion to make the band a five-piece. In 1992 Bushwahzee devised a new musical for schools called The Bush Cabaret. This show is essentially a one-day production where the children at a school learn songs and dances during the during the day and perform them for their parents that evening. The Bush Cabaret has been performed in over 1000 schools around Australia, and requests from teachers have led the band to devise the follow up shows The Sixties Happening, The Country Music Show and The Bush Christmas. Bushwahzee performs these shows regularly in schools throughout Victoria, NSW, South Australia, and Tasmania. While most of Bushwahzee's work is for private performance you can catch them at the annual bush dance at the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park where they perform every January. Another event open to the general public is The Lake School of Celtic Music Song and Dance which is next being held in Koroit January 3-8 2006. Felix Meagher from Bushwazhee is the program co-ordinator of the Lake School. Bushwahzee has released a cassette album Folk Song Parade (a collection of traditional Aussie songs), and three CDs: The Discreet Charm of Bushwahzee, Say G’Day, and Dance Happens. Bushwahzee has a number PAs and hire of a PA is possible with ex-Bushwahzee Patrick McPartlon as sound operator. Bust A Groove  Bust a Groove are an Adelaide 4 piece Cover band playing a wide variety of material from the 70's through to current day top 40 songs. Bust a Groove have existed in various forms for past 6 years starting as a six piece band originally, but for mainly economic reasons has evolved into the current 4 member lineup. The current lineup is considered to be the strongest and most versatile yet. The Band regularly plays at many of Adelaide's top venues and in January 2001 embarked on a 13 day tour of Asia playing at the exlusive Shangri La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

over 170 years of combined experience of performing live. Forming the Bill Ali Band is Bill Ali who started playing gigs at the ripe old age of 15. His mom would have to drive him to the gigs. In 1969 he formed the Toast Band one of Pittsburgh's best rock bands of the 70's, 80's,and 90's, Bill retired from the band and formed The Bratz , an acoustic classic rock act a few years back. In 2006 Bill changed The Bratz to The Bill Ali Band playing classic rock that is familiar to us all. Songs from the 60's thru the 90's. Playing with some of the best in the business. Bill is self taught on the guitar. His style is one to witness firsthand. Even on the acoustic his attack on the guitar is a visual experience. Bill plays Alveraz guitars through Fender Acousticsonic amp.

Next we have Tom Huchel on bass guitar,Huck started in the music business at the age of 10. Self taught, Huck has mastered the trumpet, guitar, piano, and bass guitar. His influences range from Tchaikovsky to Zeppelin. Huck has played in all types of bands. Polkas to hard rock. Watching Huck play is a lesson that should be learned. The core of The Bill Ali Band is the rhythm section. Huck's solid thump contributes to the unique sound the band has developed. He also adds a forth part to our vocal harmonies. Huck is a player on or off the stage. He's the guy you want on your team. He is also very fond of the color green. And on Drums George Harris former drummer of Gass House Annie, George is the master of Percussion who has played with many musicians across the United States! Behind the scenes is Mike Zaremba, Mike was as mentioned the guy behind the scenes for 36 years with the Toast Band providing all the theatrics from laser lights to flash pods. Mike was teamed up with Dave Hibay in the early years with a company known as Speedlimit Theatrical Productions. When Dave left the band Mike continued providing the light show for The Toast Band until the retirement of the band. Next Mike started his own DJ company called Simply Entertainment of Pittsburgh DJing everything from weddings to backyard pool parties. When Bill Ali called Mike and informed him that he was forming a new band and would love to have him light up the new effort as he did Toast, it was a no-brainer. Mike accepted and when he is not lighting up the stage for The Bill Ali Band, he can be found DJing around The Burgh. The Bill Ali Band is a must see band for anyone who loves great rock n'roll no other band can rock the house the way the Bill Ali Band can!

The Boys originally formed in Adelaide in 1979 doing sixties covers and original material. After years of touring all over Australia and releasing 2 singles and a Live
cassette album the band stopped touring and got involved in their own projects. Then in 2000 the boys came back together for a reunion gig that went extremely well and after 18 years the band reformed to play mainly corporate gigs with the occassional pub gig as well. With all the original members back in the fold the only difference with the boys today is that their sets don't contain any of their original material it all the great 60's songs that they have always played.
THE BREAKAWAYS The band is a tightly woven unit that exhibits an outstanding musical ability, both instrumentally and vocally. The band prides itself on its code of dress as well as getting the sound just right and the equipment we use to provide this sound is of the highest standard.
